A regular at my diner counter told me to stop giving advice he never asked for
I was ranting to him about my neighbor's fence thing and he just said, "you keep fixing stuff nobody handed you." Then he pointed out that in 2 years I have never once seen him ask anyone at the counter for help. So now I am wondering if half the "advice" I hand out unprompted is just me needing to be useful. How do you tell the difference between helping and butting in?
