Why does nobody talk about how long it takes to sort through a longbox at a convention

Honestly, I spent over 3 hours at a small show in Milwaukee last weekend just flipping through one guy's longboxes. He had them labeled by publisher but everything was mixed up by issue number. I was looking for a specific run of Daredevil from the late 80s and I swear I found issues 266 and 268 four times each before I finally got to 267. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon like that?

Brought my buddy Mike with me to a show in Fort Wayne once and told him I'd be about 20 minutes digging through boxes. Three hours later I found him sitting on the floor between two aisles looking like he'd just run a marathon. He'd been trying to find the last issue of some X-Force run and kept finding the same six issues over and over again. The guy running the booth finally took pity on him and just dug it out from the bottom of a stack in about 30 seconds. Mike still talks about that day like it was some kind of hero's journey.

Did he at least buy you a beer after that rescue mission?
