Went from loving to hating the modern Spider-Man run in just 6 months
I was a huge fan of the current ASM when it started. Bought every issue. Then around issue 30 something shifted. The writing got lazy and the art looked rushed. I dropped it last month after the whole "Paul" storyline went nowhere. Did anyone else feel the quality drop off a cliff around that point, or is it just me?

Six months is about right for that book honestly. I dropped it when they did the thing where Aunt May started dating Doc Ock's old roommate or whatever that was, it just lost me completely.

Honestly I used to roll my eyes at people who complained about ASM because I thought they were just being picky. But I picked up issue 32 and 33 from the LCS a few weeks ago just to see what was happening and man, the dialogue felt like a first draft. There's a scene where Peter and Norman have this awkward rooftop conversation that goes nowhere and the same emotion gets repeated like four times. And the fight choreography in those issues is just a bunch of panels with characters standing around talking. I get it now. I'm convinced the editorial timeline is just too tight and nobody has time to revise anything anymore.
