Took my 8-year-old niece to her first comic con in Austin last month, and she asked the artist why the superheroes never just talk it out.

It reminds me of a panel I went to years ago where a writer said conflict is cheap drama. A good conversation can be just as tense, but it takes more skill to write. That kid is onto something.
