The way I used to collect comics vs how I do it now is night and day

Back in high school I was all about grabbing every variant cover and hot new #1 I could find. Dropped like 60 bucks a week on stuff I barely read. Then about 3 years ago I moved to a smaller place and had to box up 12 long boxes of comics I'd never even opened. Now I only buy trades or omnibuses of stories I've actually heard are good from other fans. Saves me a ton of money and space. Has anyone else made this switch and felt like they enjoy comics more now?

Twelve long boxes of unread comics? That's a whole other level of commitment.
