The guy at my LCS told me to store my valuable keys in a fireproof safe instead of a long box

I had 3 long boxes of comics in my basement and after a close call with a small electrical fire during a training exercise last month, I moved my top 10 keys into a little 30-minute rated safe and now I sleep way better at night, anyone else keep a separate stash for the really expensive stuff?

Nailed my copy of ASM 300 into a fireproof gun safe bolted to the concrete floor after a neighbor's house fire jumped to my garage a few years back. The smoke damage alone turned a full run of Silver Age X-Men into worthless toast, but the safe kept my Spidey books pristine. I even bagged each key with a silica gel packet to fight moisture since safes can trap humidity something fierce.

My Secret Wars #8 and first appearance of Venom went straight into a fire-rated safe after I saw how fast smoke damage can wreck a whole long box in seconds during a nearby apartment fire last year.
