Spent $80 on a graded slab for a comic I just wanted to read

Everyone says grading protects value, but it just locked a book I love in plastic. I bought a mid-grade copy of 'Amazing Spider-Man #300' for the story, not as an investment. How do you feel about slabbing books you actually want to enjoy?
