People keep mixing up the different Green Lanterns and it's driving me nuts

I was at a local comic shop in Portland last weekend and heard three separate people call Hal Jordan 'Kyle Rayner' when talking about the new series. This isn't just a small mix-up! It matters because their stories, personalities, and the whole emotional weight of the Corps are totally different. Hal is the classic test pilot, John is the architect and soldier, Kyle is the artist. I've been reading for over 15 years and see this confusion all the time in online groups too. It makes discussions about major events, like when Hal became Parallax, completely confusing for new fans. Has anyone else noticed this specific mix-up happening more often lately?

Honestly who even cares about getting the names perfect. They all wear the same green suit and shoot lasers, the details don't matter for just enjoying a movie or show. Getting worked up over it just makes comics seem like homework.

The worst is when people call Guy Gardner "the funny one" and miss his whole angry cop backstory. Saw a YouTube video last week that mixed up his and John Stewart's time leading the Corps.
