My old longbox finally gave out after 25 years of hauling it around

Last weekend I went to grab a stack of early 90s X-Men issues from my closet and the bottom of my longbox just split open. Comics went everywhere, like 50 books just scattered across the floor. This thing survived three moves, a basement flood, and years of me just shoving it around. I got it back in 1999 from a guy at a flea market for 5 bucks. Now I gotta figure out what to replace it with, but the cheap plastic ones at the shop feel flimsy and the wood ones cost like 80 dollars. I ended up duct taping the bottom for now, which feels super janky but it works. Has anyone found a solid longbox that actually holds up for more than a few years?

Dude my exact same thing happened two years ago with an old cardboard box I had since high school. I was moving some 90s Image books and the whole bottom just gave out, books everywhere. I literally still have that box duct taped together in my closet and it is the jankiest thing but it works.

@robinson.matthew my man I feel that pain. I had a moving disaster in 2018 with a box of old Valiant comics and literally the bottom just folded inward like wet cardboard. The books scattered all over my driveway and I was chasing down issues of Shadowman in the rain. Ended up losing a copy of Harbinger #1 to a muddy puddle. That box is still in my garage held together with two rolls of packing tape and I refuse to toss it.
