My comic book collecting used to be a mess of long boxes in the basement.

About a year ago, I started bagging and boarding every single issue as I read it, even the cheap ones, and now my whole collection is organized and protected. It took a whole weekend to redo it all, but I don't have to worry about bent corners or spine rolls anymore. Do you guys bag everything, or just the key issues?

Oh, I admire your discipline! My own system is, well, let's call it aspirational. I bag and board the books I tell myself are important, but then I get a stack of modern issues that just live in a pile on my desk for months. It's a mix of good intentions and then just being lazy. I really should follow your example and just do them all at once. The peace of mind you get from knowing it's all safe has to be worth that lost weekend.

Months? The pile on your desk lives there for months? That's not a pile, that's a new piece of furniture. You've got a modern issues end table. I admire the commitment to the chaos, honestly. The peace of mind thing is real, but so is the dread of facing a backlog that's basically a small town.
