I just counted my longboxes and hit 100 exactly
I was moving my collection to a new apartment and decided to finally count everything. I thought I had maybe 70 or 80 boxes, but it was a flat 100 longboxes full of comics. That's like 25,000 books. It made me realize I'm not just a fan with a few favorites, I'm a full-on archivist. Does anyone else have a number that made them see their hobby differently?

Check your math, a longbox holds about 300 books. So you're closer to 30,000, which is even more wild.

That's a whole storage unit worth of comics. I have maybe five longboxes and my partner already calls it the paper fire hazard. Wren_brown is right about the math, 30,000 books is a library, not a hobby. At some point you have to ask if you're curating history or just avoiding a tough sorting session. I knew a guy who had a room like that and he couldn't even tell you what was in the bottom boxes.
