Dropped $75 on a short box of X-Men 266 at a garage sale and I was wrong about slabbed books
Two years ago I swore I would never buy raw comics again after getting burned on a water damaged copy of Saga at a con in Columbus. Last weekend I spotted X-Men 266 sitting in a short box at a garage sale in Dayton for $75, no bag or board, just rubber banded with three other books. I almost walked because there was no grade sticker and I figured it was a reprint, but the owner said he bought it off the rack in 1990 and I could see the newsstand stamp plain as day. Took it to my LCS and the guy said it was a solid 7.0 even with the spine roll. Now I'm wondering if I should keep hunting raw at estate sales or stick to slabs, what do you all do?
