Wasted $45 on a fancy coffee bean subscription that tasted like dirt

I signed up for a local roaster's monthly subscription back in January, thinking I'd get some cool single-origin beans. First bag was okay, but the second one had this weird sour note no matter how I brewed it. Third bag showed up late and smelled like stale popcorn. I canceled after 3 months and just lost $45 total on beans I couldn't finish. Has anyone else had a bad run with coffee subscriptions that just didn't work out?

Is it really that serious? You're out 45 bucks, not your life savings. Coffee subscriptions are a gamble at best, and sometimes you just get burnt by a bad crop. Maybe stick to grabbing a bag from the grocery store next time, it's cheaper and you can actually smell it first. I've had friends rave about those subscriptions and then quietly cancel after a month. Sounds like you just got the short end of the roast this time.
