Vent: That $22 ceramic pour over cone I bought in Portland cracked after 3 weeks
I grabbed a hand-thrown cone at a craft fair in Portland back in March because the potter said it would last a lifetime. Three weeks in, it cracked right down the side during a normal pour, and coffee leaked all over my counter. Turns out the clay wasn't fired hot enough and the guy had no return policy, so I ate the $22 plus shipping. I went back to my $6 plastic one from the grocery store and honestly the coffee tastes the same. Did I just get unlucky, or are these small-batch cones usually this fragile?
