Vent: My cheap grinder ruined my morning routine for months

Used to just grab pre-ground beans from the grocery store. Thought it was fine. Then a buddy let me try his burr grinder setup at his place in Phoenix. I couldn't believe the difference in taste. Next week I bought a $40 blade grinder off Amazon. Big mistake. It heats up the beans and makes everything uneven. Now I'm stuck with inconsistent cups and I should've listened sooner. Anyone else get burned by cheap grinders before upgrading?

Got stuck with a cheap blade grinder for way too long myself. Couldn't figure out why my morning coffee went from decent to terrible after a few weeks. Finally broke down and got a proper burr grinder and it was like drinking coffee for the first time again.

It's funny how that same pattern plays out everywhere in life, we grab the cheapest option first and end up paying for it in frustration down the road. Really makes you wonder why we don't just listen to the people who've already made those mistakes.
