Unpopular opinion: that expensive water filter I bought 3 years ago actually ruined my espresso

Last month at a cupping in Portland, a roaster tested my water and said my TDS was way too low, and now I'm wondering if my coffee has been tasting flat and sour ever since I installed that filter, has anyone else checked their water profile after using a fancy filter for a while?
