TIL my $30 pour over beats my $700 espresso machine for daily use

I spent months dialing in my espresso setup, weighing beans, timing pulls, all that. But after 3 straight mornings of fussing with it, I grabbed my old plastic V60 from the thrift store and a $12 bag of beans from a roaster in Eugene. The cup was cleaner, brighter, and took 4 minutes total. Maybe it's just me but I think fancy gear can make you forget what coffee actually tastes like. Has anyone else downgraded their setup and felt relieved?
