That friend who told me to preheat my mug for pour-over was absolutely right

Took me 3 days of drinking lukewarm coffee before I finally tried it - now my brew stays hot for 15 extra minutes. Has anyone else wasted time ignoring simple advice like this?

Preheat your brewer next too. Bigger difference than the mug.

Preheated my mug for like a week straight and thought I was a genius, then my buddy watched me pour and was like "dude your plastic brewer is cold as ice." Spent another three days with slightly less sad coffee before I caved and started rinsing the V60 with hot water too. Now I look like a total nerd running hot water through everything in sight before the actual brew starts.
