My french press finally gave out after 8 years
Last Wednesday I went to make my morning coffee and the plunger just snapped right off the rod. I've had that same Bodum since college and it probably made over 2000 cups for me. I tried to superglue it back together but that lasted about 10 seconds before it gave again. I ended up using a paper towel and a spoon to strain the grounds out which was a mess but it worked. Anyone else stuck with a broken brewer and had to MacGyver a solution?

I tried the paper towel trick too when my French press plunger broke, it works if you pour real slow.

Tried the superglue route too when my old press broke, and yeah that stuff just cant handle the pressure or heat from the water. Did you end up ordering a new one right away or did you go a few days with that paper towel setup? I ended up using a clean sock and a rubber band for like three mornings before I got my act together and bought a replacement. That makeshift pour was so slow and bitter it almost made me give up coffee for a week.
