Just read that light roast actually has more caffeine than dark roast... got me thinking

I saw this on a coffee science blog last night and it blew my mind since I always thought dark roast was stronger. But then again, maybe the volume per scoop changes everything - which side do you guys lean on for your morning brew?

My friend Dave tested this with a kitchen scale and proved it's true.

Wait, does that mean I've been paying extra for fancy light roasts thinking I was getting more kick when really I was just paying for marketing? That's like my life right there - spending more money for less results, just like my attempt to make sourdough during quarantine that turned into a brick. I always go dark roast for my morning cup because it feels stronger and tastes better, but now I'm questioning everything I know about coffee.
