Hot take: The batch coffee takeover in my city is worrying me
I've seen more cafes switch to making big pots of coffee all at once. Just yesterday, my favorite shop served me a cup from a brewer that had been sitting for over an hour. It tasted weak and had none of the rich flavor I expect. This seems to be a new norm as places get crowded and want to save time. But coffee made fresh for each person is so much better. If we accept this, we might lose the special touch in our daily brew. Speak up when you order to keep quality high.

What's the actual worst part for you, the flat taste or just knowing it's not fresh? Is it mostly about the flavor going bad, or does the whole feel of the place change when they do that?

My friend said the flat taste made the whole place feel cheap and sad, honestly.

Yeah, 'cheap and sad' hits different when you're the one who bought it. I spent a good ten minutes staring at a flat Sprite yesterday, trying to convince myself it was just 'less carbonated' and not a cry for help from the vending machine. It's like the place itself gave up on the little things, so you know the big stuff is probably just as disappointing.
