Hot take: Pour-over is way overrated compared to a good French press

I see everyone online raving about their V60s and Chemex setups, but after trying both side by side for 3 months straight, I think French press blows it away. The pour-over gave me thin, acidic cups no matter how much I messed with grind size or water temp. My $20 Bodum French press from Target makes a rich, full-bodied brew that actually tastes like coffee. I tried the James Hoffmann method for press and got zero bitterness or sludge. Plus, I don't need to buy special paper filters or a gooseneck kettle. Has anyone else ditched their pour-over gear for something simpler?
