Grumpy about my Chemex carafe being impossible to clean until i tried the salt and ice trick last weekend

I was scrubbing that stupid oily coffee stain for 20 minutes with soap and a brush and nothing worked, but a barista told me to shake crushed ice with coarse salt inside the carafe and it came out spotless in 30 seconds - has anyone else found a weird hack that actually saved them from throwing a piece of gear away?

Oh man, I totally disagree lol. That salt and ice thing always leaves scratches on my glassware. I just use a little warm water and a drop of dish soap, swish it around for a minute, and rinse.

Ngl tho, the salt trick works way better for getting off tough stuck-on stuff.
