Barista told me my pour-over was too fast... fixed it and wow

A barista at a shop in Austin watched me do a V60 and said I was pouring way too aggressive, like I was trying to drown the grounds. I slowed my pour to about 3 grams per second and now my cups actually taste balanced instead of sour. Has anyone else had a random stranger's advice totally change their brew game?

Pouring like you're trying to drown the grounds" - yeah, I've been there. It's wild how just slowing down can flip the whole flavor.

Slow pour's fine and all, but honestly I've had plenty of great cups where I just dumped the water in like a maniac. The whole "pour control" thing feels like coffee snobbery sometimes. Unless you're using some ultra light roast with specific flow rates, the difference is pretty subtle. A fast pour with a decent grind still beats a slow pour with bad beans any day.
