Why does nobody talk about booking flights on a Tuesday afternoon
Had a chat with my neighbor who used to work for an airline out of Denver. He told me the whole Tuesday thing is real but it's about timing, not just the day. He said booking between 2pm and 4pm eastern time is when airlines update their systems and release unsold seats. I tested it last month for a trip to Chicago and saved $80 on a round trip. Has anyone else found a specific time window that works better than others?

Wait your neighbor was spot on with that 2-4pm eastern window? I had the exact same thing happen booking a flight to Seattle. I did it at like 3:15pm on a Tuesday and got a nonstop for $120 less than what I saw the day before. I compared it against a Wednesday 3am test and the Tuesday afternoon beat it by about $65 for the same route. Honestly I think the airline systems are just programmed to drop prices during that afternoon lull when nobody is really booking.
