My $40 hostel in Prague turned into a nightmare after midnight

I booked this place near the main square because it was cheap, but at 2am the party crowd came back and there was no staff at the front desk to calm things down. Some guy was blasting music from his phone in the dorm room and people were shouting in the hallway for over an hour. Now I always check hostel reviews for noise complaints and bring earplugs no matter what. Has anyone else had a late-night hostel disaster that ruined their sleep?

Went through something similar in Barcelona last summer. Group of guys came in at 3am and one of them tried to climb into my bunk thinking it was his. Just bring earplugs and an eye mask every single time, even at the nice hostels. Learned that one the hard way.

Bring a sleeping bag liner too, the kind that zips up fully so you feel like you're in your own cocoon. It keeps you warmer, cleaner, and nobody mistakes your bed for theirs when you're fully sealed inside. Works way better than just earplugs when you're sharing a room with strangers.
