Just realized I wasted $200 on a travel card I never used

I bought this premium travel credit card 6 months ago thinking I'd save on flights and hotels. Paid $200 in annual fees upfront and only used it twice - once for a bus ticket and once for a coffee. What convinced me to ditch it was seeing my friend use a free debit card with no foreign fees and get better exchange rates. She travels way more than me and saves real cash by just planning ahead. Now I'm stuck with a card I don't need and $200 lighter. Anyone else fall for the shiny rewards pitch and regret it?

My $200 card got used so rarely the bank actually called me to ask if it was lost or stolen. I told them no, I just keep it in my wallet next to my expired gym membership for emotional support. At least your coffee purchase probably earned you like 0.4 miles toward a free cup of airport coffee someday.

My Capital One Venture card sat in my sock drawer for a year before I finally called to cancel and they refunded half the fee.
