Honestly, my best trip ever was a 3-day weekend in Chicago where I spent under $200 total.
Ngl, I found a hostel for $35 a night, walked everywhere, and ate from a famous hot dog stand and a grocery store, which made it stand out because I saw everything I wanted without stressing about money.

Budget trips can be the most memorable because you get creative with the city.

Last time I was in Chicago, I skipped the deep dish tours and just rode the L train around the loop for hours. Cost like five bucks and you see the whole city from above. You start noticing little details you'd miss in a cab.
