Found a cheap hostel in Lisbon that saved me $40 a night by booking 3 weeks out
I was looking at places to stay in Lisbon last month and the prices were wild. Then I stumbled on this hostel called Home Lisbon Hostel that had a discount if you book directly on their site instead of booking dot com. I paid $25 a night instead of $65. The trick was just searching for smaller hostels on Google Maps instead of the big booking sites. Has anyone else found deals by booking direct instead of using the usual apps?

I did the same thing in Barcelona! Found this tiny spot called Hostel Sant Jordi Alberg on Google Maps and booked direct for 22 euros a night. They threw in a free walking tour too. The big sites wanted like 55 bucks for the same dates. Its crazy how much you save when you skip the middleman, plus the hostels are usually way nicer and quieter since they're not on all those huge platforms.
