Went from $120 grocery trips to $45, here is my switch up
I used to just grab whatever looked good at Kroger, ended up tossing half of it. Last 3 weeks I started doing a Sunday meal plan around dried beans, rice, and whatever produce is on the clearance rack. My average trip dropped from $120 to $45. The trick was writing the plan before I even leave the house, and sticking to a list no matter what. I still eat decent, just less fancy sauces and meat every night. Anyone else found a big drop by changing their planning style, not just buying cheaper brands?

$120 down to $45? That is a wild drop, I would have guessed you were stretching it by a few bucks, not cutting it by two-thirds. Planning a list before you even walk in takes some real discipline, most folks I know grab a cart and just wander. If the clearance rack produce is working out that well, you are basically hacking the whole system.
