Used to feed 5 on $40 a week with rice and beans, now it's closer to $70
Honestly back in 2019 I could do a big pot of pinto beans, a bag of rice, and some frozen veg for like $12 and that fed us three dinners. Now that same run at the HEB near me is $22 and change, mostly the beans and the chicken thighs. Tbh I've been leaning harder on eggs and whatever's marked down that morning, has anyone else noticed their go-to cheap meal stopped being so cheap?
