The farmers market changed my mind about frozen veggies
I used to buy frozen broccoli and peas every week since they were cheaper than fresh. Then last Saturday I hit the farmers market in Eugene with my sister and saw a stall selling a huge bag of mixed seasonal vegetables for 6 bucks. The carrots still had dirt on them and the kale was honestly enormous. I took it home and roasted everything with olive oil and salt, got three meals out of it. It cost less than my usual frozen haul and tasted better than anything from a bag. Now I check the market first and only grab frozen stuff for emergency backups. Anyone else find a local spot that beats the grocery store prices?

Gotta disagree with you on this one lol. I tried the local market route for a whole summer in Portland and my grocery bill went up, not down. Sure, that $6 mixed bag sounds great, but I found myself making extra trips because the seasonal stuff didn't last as long, and I'd end up buying more on top of it. Frozen broccoli is like a dollar a bag and it's already chopped, so I can just dump it in a pan without scrubbing dirt off carrots. Plus my freezer stash means I always have something for a lazy Tuesday, and the market doesn't help me out at 7pm when I forgot to plan dinner. I'm happy it works for you, but the convenience factor alone keeps me loyal to the frozen aisle.
