Overheard a food blogger say you can't make a decent meal for under 3 bucks and I wanted to scream

I made a massive pot of lentil soup with carrots and onions from the discount bin that fed me for 4 days and cost 2.47 total, so what exactly is she buying that's so expensive?

Can't believe she said that, lentil soup is a lifesaver for cheap meals.

Yeah the lentil soup thing is real. I mean, I basically lived off that exact setup when I was between jobs for a bit. I used a bag of red lentils that was like 1.50 and some cheap frozen veggies, plus a couple of cans of diced tomatoes when I caught a sale. It came out to maybe 3 bucks total and I had enough for lunches for almost a week. The food blogger probably meant like a proper sit down dinner with chicken or something, but still, decent is relative when you are broke. Some of my best meals came from a clearance produce rack and a spice jar.
