My sister's $2 spice tip was actually a disaster
My sister swore by buying those bulk spice bags at the Asian market on 82nd Ave for everything. I grabbed a big bag of paprika for 2 bucks and it tasted like dusty cardboard in my chili, ruined a whole pot. She said to toast it first, but I'm not doing extra work for cheap stuff. Anyone else get burned by 'budget' spice shortcuts or is it just me?

Did you try toasting the cardboard, because I once burnt toast so badly my fire alarm became my dinner bell?
