I used to buy frozen lasagna every trip, now I make a $7 tray from Aldi and it feeds us for two dinners
I used to grab two family size frozen lasagnas every grocery run at about $12 each and call it a win on busy nights. That was our Tuesday and Thursday routine for a long time, mostly because I hated cooking after work. Last month I added up what we were spending on just those trays and it came to almost $100 a month for what was really just noodles and sauce. So I started buying the Aldi lasagna noodles, a big tub of ricotta, two jars of their marinara, and a bag of frozen spinach. The whole thing comes to about $7 and I can put it together on Sunday while the oven is already on for something else. It makes a 9x13 pan that covers dinner for my family of three two nights in a row. Does anybody else prebuild a couple pans on the weekend, and if so what do you freeze them in?
