I spent $60 on a cheap rice cooker and it either saved my food budget or tricked me

So three weeks ago I grabbed a basic 3-cup rice cooker from a local discount store for $60 because I kept burning rice in pots and tossing out failed batches. Since then I've been making beans and rice, oatmeal, even steamed veggies for meal prep, and I swear my grocery spending dropped to like $35 a week versus $60 before. But I'm also wondering if the upfront cost plus the extra counter space is really worth it when I could just learn to cook rice better with a pot I already own. Has anyone else gone back to stovetop after trying a gadget like this, or is the convenience actually the long-term win?
