Hot take: meal prepping every Sunday is overrated

Last Tuesday I just threw together a pot of beans, rice, and whatever veggies were left in the fridge. It cost maybe $4 total and tasted way better than the soggy chicken and broccoli I'd prepped on Sunday that was already bland by day three. I don't get why everyone acts like one big cook day is the only way to save money. Has anyone else found that cooking small on the fly actually wastes less food?

@betty_stone2 I get what you're saying about planning but my buddy Mike tried that whole Sunday prep thing once and it backfired hard. He spent like 3 hours making 5 days of salads and by Wednesday the lettuce was basically brown slime and the dressing had soaked everything. Ended up tossing half of it in the trash. Meanwhile his roommate just bought a rotisserie chicken and a bag of frozen veggies each night for less waste. So yeah "lazy cooking" actually worked better for him money wise.

Planning ahead saves time and money, lazy cooking just wastes both.
