Grocery outlet in Fresno sells dented cans for 50 cents, totally changed my meal prep
I stopped by a Salvage Superstore off Highway 99 last Tuesday and found a whole shelf of dented cans for 50 cents each. Got chickpeas, diced tomatoes, and black beans that looked fine after I checked the seals, saved about $11 on my usual haul. The catch is you really have to inspect every can, one had a rust spot near the rim that I tossed. Anyone else shop at salvage grocery spots, and how do you tell a safe dent from a risky one?
