Do bulk beans really save money or is the prep time not worth it?
I started buying dry beans in 5-pound bags from the local bulk store in Denver about 6 months ago, and I'm torn. On one hand, they cost me $4 a bag versus $1.50 for canned, but I spend almost an hour soaking and cooking them each batch. Do the savings justify the hassle for you guys, or am I overthinking this?

Are we just speedrunning adulthood where saving $3 means trading an hour of our lives and everyone pretends that's a win? It's like we're all so obsessed with pinching pennies that we forget time is literally the one thing you can't make more of.

I read somewhere that the average person spends like 40 minutes a day just deciding what to save money on. At some point you gotta ask if that mental energy is worth the $2 you saved on a different brand of toothpaste.
