Can we talk about buying bulk rice from the asian market?
I dropped $25 on a 25-pound bag of jasmine rice at the H Mart near me, and it's lasted me like 4 months already. Way cheaper than those little boxes at the regular grocery store, and I just portion it into jars to keep it fresh. Anyone else swear by a specific bulk buy that saves you cash?

Read this thing the other day about how storing bulk rice properly makes a huge difference... they said throwing a bay leaf or two in the container keeps weevils away naturally. Been doing that with my 25 pounder from the Korean market and so far so good. Also read that freezing the rice for a few days before storing kills any eggs already in there, which grossed me out but made sense. Definitely stick with the H Mart jasmine rice though, that stuff is way better than the generic bag at the big box store.

Ngl, freezing rice for a few days before storing it totally works. I did that with a 50 pound bag of basmati from India Market and it's been weevil free for months. The bay leaf trick is legit too, I toss a couple in with my long grain white rice and it actually keeps the bugs out. Honestly, the H Mart jasmine rice is a solid choice, that Korean stuff is way cleaner than the bulk bins at Winco. Just make sure you seal it tight in a food grade bucket or glass jar after freezing.
