6 months ago I switched to bulk buying rice from an Asian market and it cut my grocery bill by $40 a month

Last winter I finally drove over to H-Mart on Division Street and grabbed a 25 pound bag of jasmine rice for $18. I'd been paying $6 for a 2 pound bag at the regular store. After 6 months I did the math and realized I've saved close to $240 just on rice. It takes up some space in my pantry but I repurposed an old trash can with a lid to store it. Anyone else found a big savings like this from switching where you shop?

My buddy Mark started buying bulk oats at WinCo last year. A 25 pound bag was $14 compared to $4 for a tiny container at the regular store. He's been eating oatmeal for breakfast every day and says it paid for itself in like 3 months. Now he keeps it in one of those big plastic bins with a scoop inside.
