My 18 inch kettle lid got bent in a wind gust in Amarillo and I nearly tossed the whole cook
Was doing a pork shoulder on my old kettle two Saturdays ago in Amarillo when a gust flipped the lid right off the deck and bent the rim enough that it wouldn't sit flat anymore. Temp climbed from 250 to almost 400 in about 15 minutes because the gap was feeding the fire, so I ended up propping a brick on the lid and riding it out, and the shoulder still came out decent. My grandpa's old offset never had this problem, mostly because it weighed about as much as a small car. Anyone got a trick for straightening a bent kettle lid, or should I just start hunting for a replacement?
