Why does nobody talk about the sheer panic of asking a dumb question at work?

I had to clarify a basic process in a team meeting last Tuesday and my face felt hot the whole time. My manager actually thanked me because three other people were confused too. We need to stop acting like asking makes you look bad, it just fixes stuff faster. Honestly, it saved us a whole week of rework.
