Used to keep paper job notes in a binder, now I snap photos and it broke my brain for a week

Back when I first went solo as an HVAC tech, I carried a three-ring binder with every job's notes, filter sizes, and quirks written on scrap paper. Every evening I'd sit at my kitchen table and rewrite everything into neat columns, took about 30 minutes a night. Then last spring my truck got robbed in Memphis and the binder went with it, along with 4 years of customer history. Now I just take a photo of the unit tag and scribble on my phone with a stylus, then save it to a folder by street name. The weird part is I trust the photos less, even though they're more accurate and I can zoom in on a wiring diagram. Has anyone else lost a whole system they relied on and then struggled to trust the replacement, even when it's objectively better?
