Unpopular opinion: I used to think asking vague questions was fine, but a workshop in Seattle changed my mind.

I was helping a friend build a website and just asked 'how do I get more visitors?' online. The answers were all over the place and useless. I learned to ask specific things like 'what's a good title tag for a bakery site?' and got actual help. Anyone have a trick for figuring out what to ask when you're stuck?

Oh man, this is so true. I was trying to fix a weird noise in my car and just asked a forum 'what's this sound?' with a bad audio clip. Got ten different guesses from a loose belt to engine failure. Finally I posted a video, said it happens only when cold and turning left, and someone instantly knew it was the power steering pump. The more details you can give, the less people have to guess.

Right? It's like trying to get directions when you don't know your own address. I asked for help with a blurry photo once and just got "use a better camera." When I finally said it was a picture of my black cat in a dark room with my phone, people had actual tips about lighting. The struggle is SO real.
