TIL searching my own old posts beats asking a subreddit

Last week I needed a cable routing fix I know I solved back in March but I couldn't remember how. I scrolled through my post history for like 20 minutes and found the exact comment with a photo I'd forgotten about. It had 12 upvotes but the answer was way more detailed than anything I got when I reposted the question fresh. The trick was using the search bar with my own username plus a keyword like 'cable'. Anyone else ever dip into their own old threads for answers instead of starting over?

Different way to look at it, but fresh eyes catch what your own memory skips. Plus, replies from strangers often show a newer or cleaner method that beats your old workaround. Digging up your own post is fine, but you might just be polishing a dated fix.
