Stop asking for legal advice in this sub, you might get someone in real trouble

I saw a post yesterday where someone asked if they could break their lease over a mold issue and the top answer was just a guy saying 'sure, just withhold rent.' That's not how it works in most states, and in Massachusetts you could end up evicted AND sued. I only know this because my cousin went through it last year and it cost him $4,000 in court fees. This sub is for casual questions, not a substitute for an attorney, and bad guesses here can ruin someone's housing situation. Has anyone else seen a confidently wrong answer that made you cringe?

Actually read a piece last week about a landlord tenant dispute where someone followed Reddit advice on self help eviction rules. Turned out they were in a jurisdiction with a mandatory notice period and the judge tossed their whole case. The wild part is the person who gave the advice was just repeating something they saw on a different subreddit, so it was bad info passing through two layers of the internet. I get that lawyers are expensive but a consult for a hundred bucks beats losing your deposit and a clean record.
