Serious question, did everyone just give up on Facebook marketplace meetups or is it just me?

I used to schedule pickups at the gas station near my house back in 2019 but now I just leave stuff on the porch with a cash box because half the people flaked last month and I got stuck with a broken treadmill in my truck bed for two days.

Bet the cash box got stolen twice before you switched to the honor system too, huh? Porch pirates must love your setup.

Totally had that same thought at first. I figured anyone who leaves stuff out on the porch is just asking for trouble. But then my neighbor tried it with his old furniture and a coffee can for donations, and nothing got taken for three whole months. That honestly changed my whole view on people, cause I was so sure someone would swipe the cash the first night. Guess I was wrong about how most folks act when you give them a little trust.
