My porch light finally beat the bug swarm after 4 new bulbs

Last month I tried every bulb from the hardware store on Lancaster Ave and the June bugs still piled up like it was a nightclub. Then my buddy from the station suggested a warm yellow LED instead of the bright white ones, and last Tuesday I counted maybe 3 stragglers all night. Anybody else have a random lighting swap that solved a problem you'd just accepted for 3 years?

That "warm yellow LED" thing is honestly the secret. Same thing happened with my porch light, the blue-white ones just pulled in every moth and beetle for blocks. But once I swapped to the warm tone, it was like the bugs lost interest entirely. I think it's because the bright white mimics moonlight or some weird bug brain thing, and the yellow just reads as "nah, not a party." Even my spider webs on the corner got less busy, which is saying something. You might even try one of those amber bug lights if you can find em, they look kinda ugly but the difference is wild.
