My neighbor's 10 second critique on my plant watering routine

She said I was drowning my snake plant because I watered it every Tuesday like clockwork. Switched to checking soil moisture with a chopstick before watering, and now it's actually putting out new leaves. Has anyone else had to unlearn a fixed schedule for houseplants?

Tbh the chopstick thing feels like overthinking it, my plants do fine on a set day.
